We had about 10 people turn up on a pretty wet evening to hear Nicholas Solter’s excellent talk on Open HA Cluster at the Irish OpenSolaris User Group.

I guess the fact that we had to hold the meeting in the Sun offices, the fact that it’s vacation season for many (the speaker and myself included!) and that the weather was bad contributed to the turnout, however, I think those that were there found the talk really interesting, good questions were asked, and duly answered!

As usual we’ve got the audio added to the Irish OpenSolaris User Group Podcast, which you should definitely subscribe to, and the
slides for the talk
are now linked off the meeting web page.

We didn’t do our usual review of OpenSolaris news during August – I’ve been out of touch for a few weeks, and my attempts at delegating the task to others failed, oh well! We’ll try to put together that news at least by September’s meeting, if not before – possibly in the form of a short podcast, if that would be worthwhile ? Any volunteers to do September’s news next month ?

Thanks again for Nick for taking time out of his vacation to present this talk to the group – it was hugely appreciated.
